Aunt Lisa & Emily-

Here are some ideas I found that might work for your wedding. Let me know if you like any of them so I can get started. You have six week from today to get everything together, so the sooner you can start on little projects, the less stress it will be at the very end.

If I am stepping on your toes, let me know! I get so excited when it comes to weddings that sometimes I forget I might be a little overbearing. I would love to help in any way I can.

I think the most important and crucial tasks to finish first is your guest list with addresses and designing and printing your invitations. And also deciding on a venue.

I'm going to check with my friends and mom and gather up all of the serving ware and decorations I can that would go with your wedding.

Let me know if you think of anything and I'll try to make it happen.

Pom Pom decoration ideas

Do you know if the stake center or gym has hooks on the side walls that you could hang things from? Meaning, to drape lights or fabric from one side of the room to the other.

If so, here are some ideas for hanging tuelle pom poms. You could use the tuelle from Jesse's wedding to make these.
I've made these before and they are really simple to make. You can make each ball from one pack of tissue paper from Walmart. You can do black, white, red, striped or whatever kind of tissue paper you want to use.
Also, I have 30+ white chinese lanterns if you want to use them.

Table decoration ideas

If you end up having your reception at the gym, maybe a solution would be to change the red in your colors to yellow. It's summery and bright and might look better than red in the gym. Just an idea.
-----------
I think black tablecloths that go to the floor would look best. I'm also trying to find out where my friend got the table runners to see if they're cheap enough to buy a few more.
Also, here's the flower ball of carnations I told you about. It looks really nice sitting on top of the glass vase.
I really like the vases in the bottom right corner. I think you could find some ribbon or velum paper and wrap around the vases you have.
Another idea would be to paint some of the vases black, like the ones below.
Does the gym allow an open flame? I know you can't burn candles in the church, but it would really dress up the table.
Is this the type of topiary you were talking about?

Favor ideas

If you decide to do favors, here's a few
--------
If you don't serve cupcakes at the wedding, you could give them as favors and box like this.
Or wrap some type of candy in a sheet of damask printed tissue paper

Flower Ideas

You mentioned that you wanted to hang flower balls from the tree at the reception. And then I thought, why not kill two birds with one stone and use the flower balls as the bridesmaid's bouquets as well as the reception decoration. Just an idea.
Here's an idea for Emily's bouquet
The smaller bouquet could also work as a bridesmaid bouquet

Ice Cream Bar

I think serving ice cream to 400+ guests in 2 hours could be really tricky; especially if you don't have a deep freezer on site at the church or gym. If your heart is set on doing the ice cream bar, here are some ideas I've found.
----------
You can pre-scoop the ice cream and freeze on cookie sheets of wax paper. Once they're frozen solid, you can store them in gallon zip lock bags. (And I decided that the ice bowls I was telling you about were a bad idea)
You can rent ice cream bowls similar to these, for $0.50 to $0.60 a piece.
We have lots of these glass vases you could use to serve toppings with.
Here's a way to "dress up" the big gallons of ice cream, by covering them in foil and keeping cool in a bowl of ice
Here's a way to serve the sauces in

If you don't want to rent ice cream bowls, I found these disposable bowls on this website:
www.gelatomarket.com
Only problem is, they only sell in bulk.
-----------
1000 cups for $65
1000 cups for $80
I'll keep looking for different bowls if you decide on just the ice cream bar.

Dessert Bar

IF you want to try something other than an ice cream bar, here's an idea to do a dessert bar. You could do a bunch of different red, black and white desserts and serve them on white platters. {We have lots of serving trays}

Chocolate cupcakes with cherries on top - mini or regular size
Red Velvet Cupcakes - can do mini or regular size
Chocolate dipped oreos
Chocolate Dipped Strawberries
I'm a huge fan of the mini ice cream cones. Finding a tray could be tricky, but if you like it, I'll start looking.

This is a quick, easy and clean way of serving an ice cream scoop. It's just a fruit and nut cup - you can buy them at Walmart or Michaels
I think these are adorable. You make them with a pizelle iron (mini and skinny waffle iron) and press into a mini muffin pan
